Students will participate in a highly experiential course teaching key concepts of engineering entrepreneurship. Students will study cases similar to those of undergraduate and graduate courses. Topics covered include: Entrepreneurial team dynamics; technology and strategic assessments; creativity and business model development; communication to investors and technology managers; and technology plan development
Students spend one week on the University Park campus, where they will develop core skills in collegiate environments; and then they will spend one week at the Viterbi Startup Garage incubator in the heart of Silicon Beach. Activities may include visits to advanced manufacturing facilities and interviews with real entrepreneurs. The course culminates in a final “Demo Day” presentation.
